You know, friends, every time I call up my website...EVERY time I think, "What a conceited thing to do. To make an entire website about one person, who's just a person!" And then I think of all the reasons I felt compelled to do so:
I'm just a mom, and a wife, and a daughter, a sister and a laundress and a few other things, too, but I have such a message to share as just a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a laundress. I've a very BLESSED mom, wife, daughter, sister and well don't know about the laundress part...
I'm like most of you who have traveled through cyber space (wherever that is) to land in my domain. I have good days and not so good days. I have successes and then times when the only success is measure by how much I learned from the failure. I have days I'd like to move from Texas to Montana and hide in the mountains. Overall though, I know what it is to struggle for help and feel alone. Dennis, my dear husband and I have married young, have had interesting occupations, including the joy of coaching Special Olympics and the profound blessing of adopting children. Both of our children provide tremendous rewards. But both required us as parents to have diligence and the firm belief that someone, other than we, is fully in charge of our family. We've experienced great joy and great sadness but have come to see that they work together.
Now, you may stay here at my site a second or you might stay a bit longer, but I hope you stay long enough to receive what I strive to offer - Hope, COMFORT and perhaps a bit of education!
I pray the resources you find here at
www.mkdowney.com will help you along with your own journey. And I hope you'll feel comfortable dropping me a line at Mk@mkdowney.com to sharing a bit about your own joy and struggles. So, relax, have an OREO on me and ENJOY!
Thanks for coming!
